The Napoleon is a powerful grill great for both beginners and those more experienced working the grill. The Prestige Pro 825 also has a lot of extra features meant to streamline the cooking process and make it easier. Here are some of the most important features of the Napoleon Prestige Pro 825

  • 123,000 BTU total burner output
  • Massive 1,200+ sq. in. cooking surface
  • Natural gas or propane fuel source offered
  • Quality stainless steel frame, burners, and cooking surfaces
  • Double hood design
  • Extra side burner
  • Side trays for food prep and storage
  • Lifetime warranty

The other big thing to note is that the Prestige Pro is offered both in a freestanding iteration and a built in version.  So if you have always dreamt of a built in grill, this one provides the option to do that too.

When you first look at the Napoleon, the first thing you will probably notice is how large it is. This is one of the best features of the Napoleon. It has a very large 1,235-in cooking surface, which makes it large enough to cook food for a small army of people at once.

The cooking surface is divided into two main compartments. The main cooking compartment has 8 burners and can generate nearly 80,000 BTUs of heat energy. Each burner can be operated separately using the knobs on the front. This gas-burning grill also has a unique rotisserie burner in the back that uses infrared technology to cook. The rotisserie burner is a great feature for slow-cooking meats and can put out nearly 18,000 BTUs.

Lastly is the side burners. The side burner is an excellent tool for both cooking secondary dishes or keeping what you have already cooked warm.  The side grill can be used to roast some veggies while the main unit is taken up by meats. Both grills also have a special “sizzle zone” near the back which is used for searing meats to look in the flavor.

Every inch of the Napoleon is made out of stainless steel. Stainless steel is not only durable and can withstand high heat, but it is also sterile and very easy to clean. The Prestige has a stainless steel frame and stainless steel burners. The burners have a unique wave-shaped steel grate that sears the meat in a unique pattern.

Aside from its toughness, the stainless steel frame gives the Napoleon a very elegant look. The tiny frame and angular design would look great with any modern backyard set up. The modern, shiny accents are a great compliment to any decor – and looks spectacular as a built in.

Looks and features are great, but how does the Napoleon perform? After all, when it comes to grill, performance is the main thing that matters.

The first thing to notice is that the Napoleon is very easy to use. It does not require any experience and has some nice features that make it more accessible. For example, the Napoleon has its signature “Jetfire” electric ignition system that makes starting it up quick and easy. This mechanism works much better than a standard electric starter.

In fact, using the Napoleon is a lot like using a smaller grill, just larger and more powerful. The Napoleon is designed primarily as a gas grill, but it also features infrared technology and rotisserie capabilities as well. This versatility is a great feature for grillers who want a bit more versatility while approaching cooking.

One other feature that improves functionality is the wave-shaped cooking grates. The wave shape is designed so that you can evenly cook items over an open flame. With a traditional grate set up, you get random “hot spots” that are cooked more thoroughly. They say the wave-pattern results in more evenly cooked food – and they make for some unique looking sear marks!

The “sizzle zones” are another nice feature that helps you cook more evenly. The sizzle zones use an infrared signature to thoroughly cook meats and veggies. The infrared heats and sears the food from the outside so you don’t have to turn the meats when cooking. The infrared cooker is a particularly useful feature for burgers and steaks.

The side burners are a great addition for cooking side dishes.  The side burner has a cast iron cooking grate which can be used for frying things in a pan or cooking things in a pot. For example, you can use the side burner to fry up some potatoes while your burgers are on the grill or you could make some stew to go with your chicken.

It is hard to overstate just how versatile and useful the Napoleon Prestige Pro 825 is. All the accessories and extra cooking features basically turn it into a small-scale kitchen.

You could even use it for oven-style dishes thanks to the hoods and adjustable temperature settings. All of the features seem very well thought out, and nothing is just frill. You could find yourself using every part of this grill for one meal and everything would work perfectly.

Storage and Transportation

Lastly is storage. The Napoleon Prestige Pro 825 has a main central storage compartment and side shelves. The central compartment is where the gas tank is stored. It also has side shelves where you can store any prepped or raw ingredients.

The Napoleon Prestige Pro 825 is a large and heavy grill. In total, it weighs 450+ pounds and is a little over 4 feet tall from the ground to the top of the hood when closed. However, the Prestige Pro has a set of heavy-duty polyurethane wheels built right into the bottom compartment. The wheels make it much easier to move.

That being said, the freestanding Napoleon Prestige Pro 825 is not a portable grill, so it will best serve you if you park it and keep it in one place.

Warranty

The warranty is one of the best features of the Napoleon Prestige Pro. The grill comes with an extremely generous lifetime warranty for both the frame and large hardware pieces. There is also a 10-year warranty on the burners and flame tamers. You can get them fully replaced before 10 years then get 50% on replacement costs for the next 5 years.

This warranty is a great deal too because the Napoleon is not cheap – it actually makes an appearance on our list of the best high end grills. It costs a lot, but in our opinion, every penny is worth it. Still, the warranty is a nice thing to have and can definitely help set your mind at ease if something breaks or needs to be replaced.

Even so, you should not have to worry about anything going wrong. The Napoleon is well-built and can last you for a lifetime if taken care of properly by regularly covering and cleaning it.

Pros

  • Extremely large surface area for cooking
  • Two main cooking surface for versatility
  • Very attractive and elegant design
  • Main cooking surface, side burners, infrared technology, and rotisserie burner open up all kinds of possibilities for cooking
  • Very powerful. Combined the burners can put out up to 123,000 BTUs of heat
  • Long-lasting, high-quality materials, and durable construction
  • Freestanding or built-in option
  • Extremely generous warranty policy
  • Extra storage space for raw and prepped ingredients

Cons

  • The grill is very heavy at nearly 500 pounds
  • It is very powerful but also eats up fuel fairly quickly
  • The large cooking surface means a little bit of extra area to clean
  • The Napoleon is not a cheap grill
  • Options might seem overwhelming at first

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is that the Napoleon Prestige Pro 825 is one of the best outdoor grills you can have at your home. It has a very large cooking surface and enough power/space to cook whatever you want. The grill also has enough accessibility and extra features for cooking full course meals.

The main downsides are the price and size. The Napoleon is very expensive and weighs almost 500 pounds. However, as far as performance and quality go, it is hard to find a better grill for a comparable price.

So, if you are looking for a quality grill for home use, then you can’t go wrong with the Napoleon Prestige Pro 825. The quality, performance, and sheer versatility are its strongest selling points. So you definitely will not be disappointed if you buy it.
